6. KEG FILLING ROOM
At present only non-rusting KEG casks are used; their capacity is 50 litres and 30 litres. The casks are transported on a conveyor belt, bottom up. First their outside surface is washed in a washer. Then the casks are washed using 4 injection needles. The first three ones are used to wash the inside of the cask – the first one discharges lye, the second one hot water and the third one cold water. The fourth one fills the casks with beer. The filling time of one cask is one minute; i.e. the capacity of the line is 60 casks per hour.
